Whitsunday Islands Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Queensland

The Snorkelling
Tallarook Sail & Dive offers its guests excellent snorkelling opportunities on its cruises in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Snorkel the amazing coral reef and see a vast variety of colourful tropical fish in the clear blue waters. The Whitsunday Islands are a great place for snorkelling, as the coral of the fringing reef around the islands lies in very shallow waters. You can snorkel directly off the beach and see the fascinating marine life close up. No experience is necessary. Free lessons from a qualified instructor are available and mask, snorkel and fins are provided free of charge.

The Diving
Tallarook Sail & Dive gives every passenger the opportunity of a FREE DIVE!! We would like to introduce as many people as possible to the amazing underwater world and share our passion with you.
All Tallarook's boats visit the best diving locations in the Whitsunday Islands, like Blue Pearl Bay of Hayman Island, Luncheon Bay of Hook Island and Bali Hai. There you will see some of the best coral and fish in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Explore coral drop-off's, swim throughs and bommies. Dolphins, whales, manta rays, turtles and a vast variety of tropical fish may be seen.

The free dive is either a certified dive or an introductory dive. Introductory dives are a great way of trying scuba diving for the first time. No experience is necessary. Your instructor will first explain the theory and then do some practical exercises with you in waist deep water off the beach before taking you down. By then you will be so relaxed that you can fully enjoy diving between the coral and the fish. Tallarook's free introductory dives are proper dives with a minimum of 30 minutes. This is an experience that shouldn't be missed.

There is also the great opportunity of night diving. You can dive on the coral reefs with a torch and watch the marine life like crustaceans come out at night. This is also available as an introductory night dive with a qualified instructor. No experience is necessary. (Conditions apply.)

Tallarook Sail & Dive's six boats are fully equipped dive boats. They cater for all the needs of the diver, either the certified or the novice. Every boat has one or two dive instructors onboard. All our staff is well qualified and our company operates within all the guidelines of Workplace Health & Safety, as the safety of our clients is very important to us. Some boats have even got their own dive compressor.

Tallarook supplies new mares dive equipment onboard each vessel, all free of charge, to offer our guests perfect conditions. (Stinger suits are not included, but may be hired on board.)
After the free dive, extra dives can be booked on board. They are very reasonable priced, one of the cheapest in Australia: Introductory dive: $40.00 Introductory night dive: $75.00 Certified day dive: $35.00 Certified night dive: $45.00 Certified dive package: $75.00 (incl. 1 free dive, 1 day dive, 1 night dive - available on all boats except Maxi Samurai) For keen divers and in good weather conditions there is nearly always the opportunity for more dives. Tallarook also retails dive equipment in the Tallarook Sail & Dive-Shop in the heart of Airlie Beach. Tallarook is one of the few Mares (logo) Gold Dealers in Australia and therefore an excellent address for buying and also hiring dive equipment. Please note that all snorkelling and diving activities are subject to medical condition. Certified divers must produce their certification card.
